IEM Rio's prize pool has been expanded

It is now the second-largest CS:GO Major ever, when looking at the prize pool.

The ESL has announced that it has expanded the prize pool for the upcoming Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2022 event. Now up to $1,250,000 in total, with $500,000 going directly to the winner, this is now the second-largest prize pool ever when looking at Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Majors.

As for how the prize pool is actually being distributed, other than 1st getting half a million dollars, 2nd place will be awarded $170,000, 3rd and 4th will get $80,000, 5-8th will win $45,000, 9th-16th go home with $20,000, and 17th-24th all walk away with $10,000.

As for when the Rio Major will actually take place, it'll start in a month's time, on October 31, and will run all the way until November 14.
