Here's one last blast of news before we sign off for the evening, as we just heard word from Focus Home Interactive that Insurgency: Sandstorm, the tactical shooter from rising studio New World Interactive, has been delayed.

Originally set to launch in just a couple of days, the studio decided to hold the game back for a couple of months so the experience could be refined. Now the plan is to launch the PC version of the game on December 12. We've no idea when the planned console versions will land.

"While pre-order sales have been strong and player feedback from the Beta has confirmed the potential of the game, the extra time will allow developers New World Interactive to improve and polish their gem, and make Sandstorm a stand-out title in the modern FPS genre," the statement from Focus explained. "The on-going Pre-order Beta will be extended, so that the large and growing community can continue to play and support the game until release."

We recently got our hands on the game, and you can read our impressions here.

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"The technical issues are relatively mild in the grand scheme of things, and for the most part, we were thoroughly impressed."
