Crytek's CryEngine is capable of rendering very high-quality graphics, but the result is even more stunning if you couple that with photogrammetry. This is exactly what Matthias Lindemann did, as shared by DSOGaming, and the results are mighty impressive.
These screens were taken from a rendered scene running in real time, albeit in a very small and controlled environment. So, could this be a representation of what graphics can achieve during the next generation of consoles and PCs? We're not sure, since you still need to add much larger environments, calculations, physics, AI systems, and everything else required to run a game, but the below screenshot does look nice. You can see the full gallery here too if you're intrigued.
On that note, we should remind you of the Unreal Engine video shown by Epic in March, featuring actor Andy Serkis. This features some insane graphics and animations right as well.
Anyone else ready for the next gen?
