A few days after the actual F1 season came to a close, so has the latest season of the F1 Esports Pro Series. As we reported on yesterday, this one was pretty much in the bag from the get-go, with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Esports Team's Jarno Opmeer holding a demanding 21-point lead over second place, Red Bull Racing Esports' Frederik Rasmussen, meaning Opmeer only needed to earn six points in last night's final race of the season to take the championship.

While Rasmussen needed a miracle to take the victory, Red Bull's driver put on a stellar showing winning the final race at Interlagos, Brazil, but Mercedes' Opmeer also crossed the line in fourth place, awarding him 12 points, which was more than enough to secure the championship.

With all things said and done, Opmeer finished at the top of the standings with 195 points, Rasmussen came second with 187 points, and Aston Martin's Lucas Blakeley came in third with 162 points. As for the Constructors standings, Mercedes came first with 295 points, Red Bull second with 258, and Aston Martin came third with 171 points.

With this season in the books, we'll have to wait to hear about the plans for the 2022 campaign, and when that will kick off.
