In an interview with The Telegraph, John "Rotten" Lydon admitted to having spent £10,000 over a couple of years on iPad apps. He has now "been checked" and is no longer
"I wasted - you're the first to know this - 10,000 f------ pounds in the last two years on apps on my iPad. I got into Game of Thrones, Game of War, Real Racing, and I just wanted to up the ante. And like an idiot I didn't check myself. I've been checked now. But there's a kid in me, see? A bit of my childhood was taken from me and I'm determined to bring it back," said Lydon to The Telegraph.
Of course, gamers may recall Johnny Rotten ripping Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock a new one at an event where he was supposed to promote the game (catch the jist of it here).
So now you know. It's not just kids using their parents' credit cards who spend excess amounts on freemium games...
