After news yesterday that the IO's crime duo would make a cameo shooting monsters and demons in Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light., Eidos life president Ian Livingstone confirmed the two aren't leaving anytime soon.

Talking to Eurogamer, Livingstone argued that despite mixed critical reviews on both games in the franchise, the two characters are "amazing...people like those guys, so they're not going to disappear."

He went on to say: "Kane & Lynch 2 clearly had a Marmite effect on people...you either loved it or hated it. Some people liked the juddering camera, home video style. Others absolutely hated it. Some loved the characters. Some didn't like the characters.

"But it's artistic, thrill-a-minute instant action stuff. I thought it was a great game, but I can understand people might not have liked it."

Given the massive change in artistic direction from the first game to the second, it'll be interesting to see what IO Interactive produce for its third attempt at getting the formula right.
