In an interview with Polygon Hideo Kojima opened up a bit on his future. Pictures of Kojima and Norman Reedus and the fact that he came on stage with Guillhermo del Toro at DICE this week (for an interview panel) had speculation running wild that maybe some project similar to Silent Hills / P.T. was under way. That is however, not true. Kojima is setting up his new studio (once again called Kojima Productions) and they're working on a big game, something that will either make or break the studio in Kojima's opinion.

He did say that he hopes to work with del Toro and Reedus somewhere down the line.

"Let's say you're thinking of climbing Mount Everest, but you start with Mount Fuji first. That goes well and it feels good. Then you're preparing to climb Mount Everest and you're not allowed to."

"That doesn't feel good."

He also said: "I'd like to do something with them before I die."

And while Kojima is interested in expanding into both film and VR, this new big project isn't to do with that.
