Konami reveals Contra: Rogue Corps for Nintendo Switch

The series that started out as an arcade release from Konami way back in 1987 is still going, and 2019 brings the next entry. This time for Switch, Contra: Rogue Corps looks to lend from some of Contra 3's level design, swapping a side-scrolling angle for a top-down perspective.

The run-and-gun action game is set to bring back some classic characters alongside some questionable new ones, like a "cuddly panda" named Hungry Beast and a weird mutated-bug-thing called (Just) Gentleman.

The trailer looked like typical b-movie action, with a boatload of running, gunning and exploding to a rockin' soundtrack. We'll see how this one turns out when Contra: Rogue Corps launches on September 24, 2019.
