Back in 2018, we wrote twice about Zelda: Skyward Sword probably coming to Nintendo Switch, although Nintendo denied the news shortly after. As it turns out, the company might have just been keeping it a secret.

We know this because Amazon UK listed The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for Switch (the page is offline now, but Wario64 grabbed a snap). The January 1 2030 release date is, however, just a placeholder.

In an interview with Eurogamer two years ago, a Nintendo spokesperson said that the company had no plans to release Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch due to the very specific motion controls offered by the Wii console, on which the game debuted in 2011. Interestingly, the listing was for around £70, which is quite expensive for a Switch game, which could also point to some sort peripheral bundled in with the game.

We hope that Amazon didn't make a mistake, and since the rumour has returned again after such a long time, there may well be something to it. Maybe we'll find out more during the next Direct, whenever that may be.

REVIEW. Written by Jose Manuel Bringas

"Skyward Sword never loses the ability to surprise the player, and the great part is that it does so with elements that have belonged in the series since inception."
