Almost 25 years ago, probably the best video game movie ever was released. It was called Mortal Kombat, directed by Paul W. S. Anderson, who later became known for his Resident Evil movies. Liu Kang was played by Robin Shou, and Johnny Cage was portrayed by Linden Ashby.

The Hollywood Reporter has now asked Liu Kang and Johnny Cage to play some Mortal Kombat, and then sit down and tell about their thoughts about the movie, and later on its meaning in popular culture. You can watch the 15-minute interview on Youtube.

In 25 years, the guys have gotten visibly older. Still, you can see and hear, that these are still the same Liu Kang and Johnny Cage you remember. These two guys are also happy about the new Mortal Kombat reboot. According to Linden Ashby, they will always be Johnny Cage and Liu Kang, so no reboot is not going to take that away from them.
