This past weekend marked the conclusion of the final regular season tournament in the 2021 Overwatch League calendar. The Countdown Cup saw the top two teams from the East and West region compete for a shot at some League Points ahead of Playoffs and even a meaty prize pool.

For this tournament, the East's representatives were the Chengdu Hunters and the Seoul Dynasty, whereas the West brought the Atlanta Reign and the Los Angeles Gladiators. The Dynasty were the first team to be knocked out, taking fourth in the event, with the Reign following and landing third place. The finals of the tournament pitted the Gladiators against the Hunters, and after a lengthy set that went right down to the wire, the Gladiators edged out a victory, claiming $100,000 in winnings.

Next on the list for the Overwatch League is the Play-In tournament set for September 4, which will take us right up to the Playoffs and the Grand Finals.
