Mercedes-Benz is drastically changing up its G-Class vehicle in a newly announced collaboration with Moncler. This new iteration in the G Wagen line looks initially like a moon buggy, as it features enormous tires wrapped in a bizarre metallic bubble material, while the top of the car also has a similar appearance, alongside boasting a zipper stretching across its roof.
According to the press release touching on the car, the Project Mondo G (as it is known) is supposed to be a G-Class vehicle that has been styled with a Moncler puffer jacket, and is the first time that Moncler has teamed up with an automotive brand.
"Our co-creation with Moncler offers an unexpected experience of both brands. This debut collaboration with Moncler opens new horizons and a potential of opportunities for more news to come soon," said Britta Seeger, member of the board of management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, responsible for marketing & sales.
While you won't be seeing this unique G-Class on the road anytime soon, the idea of the campaign was to create a feel of an "imaginary universe with low gravity," which judging by the car's appearance, certainly achieved that.
