Monster Hunter World has never been shy about partnering up with other games or brands for some cool in-game collaborations. Recently, we saw the world of The Witcher 3 collide with the title, bringing the White Wolf to Capcom's premier franchise and now it looks like Aloy is back for second time. We spoke with some of the developers of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne at this year's Gamescom, talking about what led them to re-collaborate with Guerrilla Games, bringing the world of Horizon Zero Dawn: Frozen Wilds to their title.

"The thing about collaborations, is that it isn't something we can do by ourselves of course" said Ryozo Tsujimoto, Producer on Monster Hunter World. "The timing has to be right, we have to find another series or brand, which is a good fit for Monster Hunter, certainly in terms with how we feel about putting it in the game, whether it fits our gameplay or our style and Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the ones we did in the original Monster Hunter World and it was such an honour and a pleasure to work together with Guerrilla Games, they were so helpful and cooperative in getting us what we needed to make it happen. It seemed like a natural fit to continue that collaboration into Monster Hunter World: Iceborne."

"So, as we've announced, there will be some pieces of gear coming from Horizon Zero Dawn: Frozen Wilds. That's been something really fun for us to work on and with the development team being fans of Horizon ourselves, it's just something that gives us great excitement and pleasure to work on and make it happen."
