Earlier this week, we saw a new trailer for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, which deals with the frosty elder dragon Velkhana, a majestic creature that forms ice columns with its breath that we can tactically use when battling the beast.

In addition, the developer informed us about a returning and a new (and very pretty) monster. The explosive Brute Wyvern Brachydios will be remembered by many 3DS/Wii U players, and not just for its distinctive green blast-slime (the wyvern has been on the grid since Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate). It is assisted by an intriguing water dragon called Namielle, another elder dragon, although we don't know much about Namielle.

On September 4, all Monster Hunter: World players receive the Guardian armor as part of a free update too. Thanks to its high defences and built-in abilities, the chances of survival of inexperienced hunters are likely to increase significantly, helping them to complete the main game quicker to get started with the Iceborne content, which will only be available after hunter rank 16, so you have to complete the whole game first.

Capcom will also introduce a "Hunter Helper" feature that will provide an incentive for experienced players to join low- and high-rank missions and help other people in need, however, only in-game trophies have been named so far.

To remind you, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is an add-on that will be released on September 6, but will be sold together with the main game in one edition too. Below you'll find the Gamescom trailer and further down you'll see the dangerous Tigrex - another returning monster.

Are you eager to get stuck in with the Iceborne content?
