Much hoped for, finally confirmed: Final Fight's Haggar is in as a playable character in Marvel Vs Capcom 3. He's joined by Marvel's God-like Phoenix (who's presumably had her powers toned down for the game).

The wrestler-turned-Mayor of Metro City first appeared in Capcom brawler Final Fight, but has kept a low profile on the company's active roster since, only putting in a cameo background appearance in Street Fighter Alpha 2, and was due for a playable role in Capcom's Fighting All-Stars (which never got an official release). His appearance will please a lot of fans.

Phoenix is ex-Marvel Girl Jean Grey, who's possessed by a cosmic entity known as the Phoenix Force (there's a lot more to it than that, but we're not getting into it here) and along with a killer outfit, has some flame-enduced moves, which you can see her put to use in the screens below.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is due out on Xbox 360 and PS3 February 18.
