Need For Speed Arena trademarked by EA

Apparently Electronic Arts has more plans for Need For Speed, as according to VG247 EA has now trademarked a new project for the series called Need For Speed Arena. It was filed and registered at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on November 7 with the description of "computer game software", so this may well be a new game.

Unfortunately there are no other details available at this time and EA hasn't yet officially announced any new game for the series. Arena could very well be a mobile game, some sort of online service or something else, or it could of course be a brand new sequel to series since one is definitely expected to arrive next year.

It will be interesting to see what we get and if EA will announce it in 2016, so stay tuned to Gamereactor to find out. Would you like a new Need for Speed game?
