Neuralink has taken the next step in putting chips in our heads

It'll soon be launching its first clinical trial with the technology.

If you're not clued in, Neuralink is a device that, should all go to plan, will put a chip in your brain that can connect to computers, mobile devices, and more, allowing you to control things like a mouse or send a text with nothing but your thoughts.

It's an idea from the far future, really, but it seems as if the company is taking its next steps to make that future a reality. It recently made the announcement over on Twitter that it had succeeded in persuading the FDA to allow human testing with Neuralink prototypes.

Currently, recruitment isn't open for the company's clinical trials, so that's sad news if you want to get plugged into the matrix as soon as possible. At the moment, it seems as if Neuralink is still in its very early stages, so you shouldn't have to worry about chips in your head for some time.
