Tecmo Koei's Project Zero series has been on hiatus for some time now. The latest entry Zero: Tsukihami no Kamen only saw release in Japan on Wii in 2008. A spin-off called Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir was released on Nintendo 3DS in 2012 and a remake of the second game was released on Wii the same year. Now Nintendo and Tecmo Koei have announced the fifth main entry in the series on Wii U - for Japan at least. The Wii U GamePad would appear to be a rather swell fit with the concept of seeing and photographing spirits with a camera.
Gematsu also notes there are plans for a feature film in the works.
