Nintendo has been making more and more of a push with their esports competitions recently, and now they've announced that they'll be present at the Insomnia63 festival in the UK which, among other things, will include competitive tournaments for players to get involved in.

The event is taking place between August 24 and 27 at the NEC in Birmingham, and on the first day (the Friday) the Arms Insomnia63 Grand Prix will take place, featuring a double elimination bracket. To register, visit the registration desk at the Nintendo UK VS Tournament Zone on that day to see if you can beat all contenders to become the best.

The day after there's the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 Qualifier Tournament for both the Inkling League (featuring players aged 13 and under) as well as the Octo League, with winners of each qualifier getting through to the competition's grand final in November. Pre-registration details can be found in the link above, and includes full teams of four or five players, or you can register from 14:00 BST on August 24 at the event, with the competition being viewable from 11:00 BST on the Saturday.

On Sunday we'll get the Mario Tennis Aces Insomnia63 Open too, with the singles tournament using standard rules and extended play on Stadium Courts, also with KO Loss turned on. This will be a single elimination bracket, and to register your place, visit the registration desk on Saturday, August 25, with the chance to feature in the top eight livestream on Sunday from 16:00 BST.

Last but not least there's the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Insomnia63 Grand Prix, this being a single elimination 150cc competition for two racers to advance each time. The registration for this opens on Monday, August 27, and what better game is there to round the whole event off?

"We had a lot of fun with our time in the game, although returning players will have to weigh up for themselves whether there's enough to warrant the upgrade."
