Nintendo of Europe are to publish an indies showcase video, showing off indie games that'll be available for download on the Nintendo eShop on the day of the Switch's launch. The video is to be published on Tuesday, February 28, so indie fans - mark your calendars.

With the release of the Nintendo Switch on March 3 right around the corner, this confirmation of the eShop being ready for launch can only be a good thing, with a huge line up of digital indie titles. The video is to celebrate the so called "Nindies" games before launch, however, it's just a localisation of Nintendo of Americas' video.

This year, the eShop will have more than 60 indie games in addition to digital downloads of mainstream games, DLC, and more. Three Nindie games are expected to launch the same time as the console. Also, people who already have funds in their account on a Nintendo 3DS family system and/or Wii U can access them using a shared wallet that works on Nintendo Switch as well. Once they link their Nintendo Network ID and Nintendo Account, and then their Nintendo Account to their Nintendo Switch console, this functionality becomes possible.

Unfortunately, though, virtual console games will not be available on the Switch at launch, but a News feature will offer updates about the latest additions to Nintendo eShop, as well as providing information about upcoming games and other updates from Nintendo.

To access Nintendo eShop, a system update is required that will be available on launch day. The system update downloads in the background, is designed to install quickly, and doesn't disrupt gameplay. For more on Nintendo's console and games, check out their website.

Have you got some eShop funds in the bank saved up for the Switch?
