After several years of legal back and forths, No Doubt and Activision have finally settled their differences, Associated Press reports.
No Doubt and their management took offense as players of Band Hero (2009) were able to use likenesses of the band members when performing songs other than the agreed upon No Doubt songs. It's a silly thing from a gamer's perspective, but obviously artists pay managers and the likes a lot of money to care for their image and thus they didn't want No Doubt to be seen performing The Jackson 5's ABC or Village People's Y.M.C.A. to name a couple of examples from the track list.
There are no details on the sums involved as the parties settled, but it's reasonable to assume Activision paid something to make it go away.
