After not having shown their game at either E3 nor Games Convention we contacted Avalanche Studios to get an update on Just Cause 2. This is what CEO and founder Christofer Sundberg had to say...
Why was Just Cause 2 not shown at E3 or Games Convention and where are you at in development?
- Just Cause 2 was simply not shown, because we will show it at a later date when it has reached a level that we are happy with. We are a month or so away from alpha, and aim to be in beta by christmas and release the game towards march/april.
How are things progressing with the "social hunting" game you announced with partner Emote Games in April. When will it release, and how would you describe it in your own words?
- We will reveal more about "The Hunter" shortly, so stay tuned. It's going to be really cool. One of the bigger platforms has shown tremendous interest for it and it is likely to be the first of its kind (not just hunting games) on that platform.
And what about those unannounced projects mentioned on your website?
- The third game has yet to be announced, so you'll have to wait a little longer for that.
There we are... no reason to be concerned about Rico Rodriguez and Just Cause 2. And it will certainly be interesting to see how "The Hunter" turns out. Social hunting sounds a bit like a night out on the town, but I think it is safe to assume this game will involve guns and wildlife.
