Hello Games has revealed that No Man's Sky will take up just 6GB of space on the PlayStation 4's Blu-Ray disc. However, they have also boasted that the game will have 18 quintillion planets to explore.
The way in which the team has managed to achieve this is that much of the content in the game will be procedurally generated, which takes up next to no space on the disc and instead comes down to clever algorithms.
In fact, Sean Murray, founder of No Man's Sky developer Hello Games and one of the game's chief architects boasted on <ahref="https://twitter.com/NoMansSky/status/752253747590524930?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">Twitter</a> that the 6GB was actually mainly audio.
"For those asking - size of No Man's Sky on disc is just 6GB. A lot of that is audio (⌐■_■)"
Murray also revealed that the game has "passed cert first time in EU, US and Asia" and that they are "currently here working on Japanese submission."
The team are already working on the game's first update, this before the launch of the game on August 9 in North America, and August 10 in Europe.
