It was recently announced that Spearhead Games' action-adventure murder-mystery Omensight will see release on May 15 on PC and PS4, but prior to that announcement we had a chat with creative director Malik Boukhira at PAX East to learn more about the intriguing prospect of this rather unique title.
"As far as genre I would say it's an action-murder-mystery, which I know is something you don't expect to mash together, but that's actually what we did. You play a character called the Harbinger in this game, that's kind of a warrior that lives outside of time that only appears in the world when there's a big problem. In this world, there's a big war going on, classic, epic war between two factions and empires and all that, but that's not even why you're there. The problem is the world is going to end by nightfall, and that's why you're there."
"That's not a lot of time, but fortunately you have the power to come back in the morning after witnessing the end of the world. Now your job is to cancel that apocalypse, revert that doomsday basically. And it's a murder-mystery because pretty early in the game you realise that the end of the world has been caused by the murder of an important person in that world called the Godless Priestess, that is supposed to stop evil Gods from eating the world, basically. And someone killed her, trapped her soul, and you have the task of figuring out why. Who did that? And abort that from happening."
Another interesting part of the game is that the player will make choices that will lead him or her down different paths and that will give them different sort of clues and insights.
