Starting today, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 players on PS4 can look to participate in the next season of content coming to the title. Known as Operation Apocalypse Z, this portion of added extras is looking to focus on the iconic Zombies mode, and both new and old content is coming in.

On launch day for multiplayer, players can expect to find a brand-new Specialist available, named Reaper. This character is a heavily-armed robot who is particularly proficient when using explosive firepower, wielding a Special Issue Weapon and Equipment, those being the Scythe and Radar Shroud respectively. The Scythe is a high-damage machine gun which fires explosive rounds and inflicts a suppression effect on nearby enemies, while the Radar Shroud is a deployable jamming device with the ability to conceal an area on enemy mini-maps. Interested players can look to unlock the character at tier one of the Operation.

As well as the new Specialist, weapons will be added to the Black Market, those being a new shotgun called the Argus and the Reaver C86 crossbow. As for new modes, players can look to see the return of Sticks and Stones, a game mode about getting kills with tomahawks and throwing knives. To cap off multiplayer, three new maps will be playable, those being Der Schatten, Remnant, and an original Black Ops classic Havana. Further down the line, more content will be dropping such as more game modes, another new weapon, and a new alternative map in Jungle Flooded.

Blackout will also be seeing some new tweaks to its original map, and the Haunting Fog will be appearing. Alcatraz: Nightfall will see the prison blackout map fall under the shroud of darkness too, paying homage to its roots as a traditional Zombies experience, and on top of that, a new game mode will be dropping in Alcatraz Portals Horde, where more Zombies enemy types spawn on the island. As well as this, new weapons are to be useable and three new characters will be available to unlock - Danny Trejo, Russman, and M. Shadows. As the season progresses, expect to see more weapons including Wonder Weapons coming to Blackout, as well as another new mode and a motorcycle vehicle to zoom around the map in.

Rounding everything off will be the new features coming to Zombies. At launch, players can find the conclusion of the Aether Story, continuing from the events of Classified and Blood of the Dead, in Alpha Omega. This new Zombies experience set in the secret Broken Arrow facility is 400% larger than Nuketown Zombies and will bring some new and classic mechanics to the mode, like enemies such as Jolting Jacks - a special round foe in Lightning Hounds - and Nova 6 Bombers, who are deadlier evolutions of Nova 6 Crawlers from Kino Der Toten.

Alongside the new map, the Wolf Bite perk is being added, which will allow players to spawn a friendly wolf companion called Luna when fighting back the hordes. Classic Elixirs from Black Ops III will be seeing a return as well, bringing Phoenix Up and Head Drama to the title. Likewise, since the Reaver C86 and the Argus Shotgun are coming to multiplayer, it's only right they come to the Mystery Box in Zombies, making for two brand-new Pack-a-Punch-able weapons. As the season progresses, players will be able to participate in the Alpha Omega Gauntlet called Duck and Cover, bringing 30 new challenges for Zombies fanatics to take a crack at. On top of this further additions are dropping down the line for Zombies, seeing more weapons available to use and new support for MKII.
