The 2023 Halo Championship Series has started, and even already conducted its first Major of the season. Held in Charlotte, the Kickoff Major saw the best teams in the world coming together to fight over a $250,000 prize pool.

Following the events of the 2022 season, many were wondering whether defending champions OpTic Gaming would enter the 2023 season and be equally as dominant. Following this tournament, it's clear that that is the case, as OpTic has also been crowned champions at this event.

The team defeated FaZe Clan in the finals yesterday evening, meaning it has gone home with $100,000 in prize money, as well as a boatload of HCS Points, which will be handy when it comes to the Championship at the end of the year.
