China and Germany will host the events next month, bringing together top Contenders talent during the Overwatch League break.
Blizzard has revealed the locations for the Pacific and Atlantic Showdown events for the Overwatch Contenders competition, with the Pacific Showdown running from May 24 to 26 in Shanghai, China, and the Atlantic Showdown landing in Krefeld, Germany from May 31 to June 2.
This sees the top teams from all eight Contenders regions participating, scheduled during breaks in the Overwatch League to "maximize scouting opportunities for the game's up-and-coming professionals," according to the press release.
More details on the breakdown of the competitions can be found here, and we also get information on the Gauntlet, which was revealed back in February. This will run from October 9 to 13 in a yet-to-be-decided location, and the format sees groups go into a double elimination competition.
"The Gauntlet's tournament format will emphasize interregional competition for maximum excitement," the press release adds. "We've scheduled it after the conclusion of the 2019 Overwatch League season, when teams will once again prepare to sign players for the following season."
