PGL Esports has been named as the organiser for the final Major in the Dota Pro Circuit for this season. With this in mind, the final Major is set to take place at the Esports Stadium Arlington, in Texas, where the top 18 teams from around the world will be competing over a $500,000 prize pool and some final points to qualify for The International.
By coming to the US, this Major will be the first Major on American soil since the 2016 Boston Major, an event that PGL also produced.
"DOTA 2 has a lot of fans in the US, and Arlington has a perfect location for tournaments of this caliber: Esports Stadium," said Silviu Stroie, CEO of PGL. "We are fortunate to be back in North America with another Major after Boston. We love to run events in the USA, and we have wonderful memories from 2016: it was a great tournament, and the fans were fantastic. Having a tremendous tournament with DOTA 2 enthusiasts in the stands after a long time will be great!"
As for when the tournament will be taking place, the Arlington Major is planned for August 4-14. PGL has added that extra information of tickets and the tournament will be shared "soon".
