The Smite World Championship has once again concluded after almost a week of exciting competition. Following a series of stellar comebacks and games, the Pittsburgh Knights has achieved a consecutive victory, becoming two-time champions.
The Knights' path to glory originally started on Friday during the quarterfinals round, where they fell two maps behind Spacestation Gaming, with all hopes of making it to the semi-finals looking bleak. However, the team pulled together and completed a hard fought comeback sweep, defeating SSG and making it to the semis, where they faced Radiance.
Here, the Knights were once again forced into a hard series that went the distance, as both teams traded out maps. In the end, it once again came down to map five, which also saw the Knights clutch out a win, securing a position in the finals.
The finals pitted Knights against the top seeded Ghost Gaming, across a series that as expected, went the distance. Once again coming down to the wire on game five, Knights defeated Ghost and secured their two-time back-to-back Smite World Championship victory.
