SuperData has collected data on the top-paid subscription services, demographic profiles, customer behavior and microtransactions in games.

According to the information gathered, subscribers spend twice as much on additional content in games compared to other players. The most popular among them are cosmetic items and season passes.

What's more, players who pay for subscriptions spend about 45 percent more on games in total. It turned out that the three most subscribed to services account for 6 percent of the total income of computers and consoles in the third quarter of 2018. It's a trend that's likely to continue given the effort Microsoft put into Xbox Game Pass and how much EA is pushing EA Access and Origin Access.
