It was announced by Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke during today's San Diego Comic-Con panel: we're getting a trading system in Pokemon Go.

The update will be coming sometime in the future, once the bugs have been fixed and servers are more stable. The game hasn't been released everywhere yet, so it may be a while before we see the feature.

Trading has been an integral part of the Pokémon series since the originals, which is why there was, and still is, two versions of each game, as the idea was that you would only be able to catch certain pokémon in certain games. By doing this the task of catching them all became even more social.

This mechanic was in the Pokémon Go beta, however it was only local, and one player would have to accept another's request to trade. We're yet to get any sort of a release date for this update, as the servers are still a big issue that need sorting.

REVIEW. Written by Clover Harker

"It isn't without its flaws, but what's there is engaging, innovative, and most importantly, fun."
