Pokémon fans around the world, the big day has finally come! Long after being much loved by gamers in the second half of the '90s, Nintendo has announced that Pokémon Red/Blue and Pokémon Yellow will make their return on Nintendo 3DS on February 27, the same day the very first Pokémon games (Red and Green) were published for the first time in Japan, back in 1996.

Just as we did when we were young, but without that annoying Game Link Cable, players will be able to take advantage of the wireless connection of Nintendo 3DS and swap their favourite Pokémon with other players.

In short, a fun blast from the past that will allow us to rediscover why we fell in love with these cute little monsters for the very first time. In addition to this, Nintendo made another fun announcement regarding the Pokémon series.

Even if many fans speculated that Nintendo would announce a completely new Pokémon game (the rumoured Pokémon Z), the Japanese company has instead announced a minor spin-off game called Pokémon Picross. Pokémon Picross will be a free-to-play game, and it'll be available exclusively on Nintendo eShop early next month.
