Polestar has announced that it is teaming up with Candela to supply the marine vehicle brand with batteries for its boats in the future. As noted in a press release, we're told that the Swedish electric vehicle manufacturer will be providing supply batteries and charging technology, as the pair look to "accelerate the shift to more sustainable electric mobility."

We'll see this partnership in effect in the Candela C-8 Polestar edition, which is said to be bringing a "Polestar's expression of Scandinavian luxury to the marine industry", and will feature a solid grey exterior colour matched up with light grey accents and interior.

As for what batteries this version of the boat will use, we're told that it will be a 69 kWh one that promises 57 nautical miles on one charge, all at the speed of 22 knots. This is claimed to be 2-3 times the range of "conventional electric speedboats".

The Candela C-8 Polestar edition is available right now and is said to retail from €400,000, with deliveries expected to start in June 2024.
