There is a lot of talk about Saudi Arabia and other mega rich Middle-East countries using sports to attract people to the country and gain a boost in tourism and to draw the limelight from the country's shadier dealings. The concept is known as sportwashing, and we've seen this massively affect the physical sports world, and as of late, even the esports world.

This is because the Gamers8 festival is currently ongoing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the event bringing tons of premier tournaments with multi-million dollar prize pools to fight over. With this event starting midway through last week, the first batch of events have already wrapped up, including the FIFAe Club World Cup for 2023.

Following a few days of competition, RBLZ Gaming, a team that is backed by RB Leipzig, has risen to the top to be crowned champion. This result has seen the team heading home with the lion's share of the $1 million total prize pool.

For more FIFAe action, later this month will see the FIFAe World Cup being held, as will the FIFAe Nations Cup, both at Gamers8 and with $1 million prize pools.
