Rebels Gaming, the Spanish esports organisation founded by Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, has announced that it is joining the League of Legends Spanish regional league, the Superliga in 2023.
As noted in a press release, we're told that the team will be taking over the spot from G2 Arctic, who recently left the league. This also comes after Rebels has spent a while competing in the Iberian Cup for League of Legends.
"We are delighted that Rebels Gaming is joining the League of Legends Superliga. It is an important step for the club's strategy," said De Gea. "We were already in the biggest VALORANT regional league and being part of the League of Legends one was a natural step for the club. We arrive to work hard and earn our spot on the scene."
In terms of who Rebels Gaming will be facing off with in the Superliga next year, the other organisations are; Giants, Movistar Riders, UCAM Tokiers, Barca eSports, Fnatic TQ, Heretics, Finetwork KOI, Bisons Eclub, and Guasones.
