It has been reported that the Call of Duty League 2021 Opening Weekend was the biggest regular season to date. Reported by Gamerant, this season's Opening Weekend apparently reached 1.3 million unique viewers, which was up by 70% over last year, alongside boasting 80,000 average viewers per minute over its four days. 209,000 accounts were also linked from YouTube to the game so that players could earn drops.

While these numbers are impressive, it is still trivial in comparison to some of the larger esports scenes for example, League of Legends of which during its most recent World Championships averaged 23.04 million average viewers according to Riot, as we previously reported on.

Still, in the grand scheme of things, this bodes well for the Call of Duty League, which is continuing its second week of its second season later today, with a match between the Los Angeles Guerrillas and Florida Mutineers at 8pm GMT / 9pm CET.
