It seems like one of the regional League of Legends leagues that pertains to the UK and the Nordics is in a bit of trouble. Ever since Riot Games announced sweeping changes to the EMEA region, both at the LEC level and for regional leagues such as the NLC, the organisation looks to be facing a multitude of problems.

As reported on by Dot Esports, the league is said to be struggling to find funding and sponsors, and with teams and bigger organisations pulling out, the NLC is facing a dilemma that it may not recover from.

This aligns with the recent statement from the NLC, where it mentioned that it would have to scale down its operations due to failing to meet partnership goals, meaning it will no longer be recognised as an accredited regional league in the LoL scene.

With this being said, the NLC has stated, "we will continue our discussions with Riot Games and possible commercial partners within the region to come up with an upgraded concept from 2024 on."

As it stands, the NLC will be looking to host its Spring Season sometime in early 2023.
