EA and Respawn has announced that it will be hosting the Apex Legends Global Series Year 2 Championship this July, and will be doing so at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina.

This event will actually be a rather significant one, as it will be the first time that the ALGS will have a live audience. As for who will be in attendance, the top 40 teams from the five competitive regions around the world will be competing for a share of the $2 million prize pool, as well as the title of ALGS Champions for this entire season.

"Bringing ALGS to the PNC Arena is a major milestone for the Apex brand and indicative of the title's continued growth in the competitive scene," said John Nelson, senior director and commissioner of Apex Legends Esports at EA. "The ALGS Championship is a true celebration of fandom, and we're looking forward to delivering the first-ever live ALGS Championship experience for our community of players and the residents of Raleigh."

We're told in a press release that we can expect details on ticket sales for the event to be revealed in the coming weeks, but that the event itself will boast Multiview, Twitch Drops, exclusive content, and more, for those watching from home.
