Riot Games has announced the next global tournament for Teamfight Tactics, in the Fates Championship. The event is set to take place between April 7-9, 2021 and already has regional qualifiers taking place all around the world.

The Fates Championship is set to feature 24 competitors from all over the world, all competing for a shot of $250,000 in prize money across the online competition. As for the format, that will be a 3-day Swiss format; where the top 16 point earners on day one move to day two; the top eight from day two move to the finals on day three; and on day three, the first player to amass 18 points will be declared the winner.

"Teamfight Tactics continues to be one of our fastest-growing titles due to its accessibility and depth," said Whalen Rozelle, Sr. Director of Esports at Riot Games in a press release. "To meet the massive demand for organized competition, for the Fates Championship we increased both the prize pool and the number of players who can qualify for the event. We also will explore new ways to further celebrate the esport globally."

The event will crown the next Teamfight Tactics World Champion, so to check out how the prize pool will be split or to look further into how the qualifiers head over here.
