Psyonix' Rocket League fan base has growing strong over the past couple of years and while expanding to new platforms and countries the game's community has subsequently grown bigger. But that does not necessarily a nice place all the time. To ensure a friendly virtual space Psyonix will update its report system this week.

Due to the high amount of daily player reports complaining about harassment and abusive language, Psyonix is about to implement an automatic algorithm counting a certain player's violations of specific words to hand out ban punishments by default. The system will be updated in the future to expand to new languages and topics to the filter but to date it handles temporary bans and eventually even permanent bans.

"While we have an initial list of over 20 words and variants, this list (which we will not be making public) will continue to evolve over time, and include words and phrases from multiple languages. Each word has its own threshold, and once a threshold for any word has been reached, that player will be automatically subject to a ban. These bans will typically start at 24 hours, and then escalate to 72 hours, one week, and finally, a permanent ban."

What do you think about an automated ban system?
