If this latest rumour turns out to be true, it's undoubtedly one that will please DICE's Battlefield fans. Even as Battlefield 1 continues to receive additional content (and with Battlefront II only recently coming to market), it's a busy time to work at the studio. It could be about to get even busier.

This is according to YouTuber AlmightyDaq, a man who very accurately predicted what we would see with regards to Battlefield 1, and who presumably has a contact at DICE who has shared some very interesting details about the potential return of the fan-favourite spin-off series in the form of Battlefield: Bad Company 3.

According to the leak, the action would be centred around Vietnam and the Cold War era, with action taking place in various locations associated with that period of history. Early reports also mention that the studio would be taking some liberties with historical fact. Apparently, the following modes will appear in this still unconfirmed game:

Conquest
Rush
Operations
Domination
Team Death Match
A 5-on-5 mode similar to "Squad Obliteration"

The report also mentions smaller, more intimate maps, moving away from the grander battles of BF1, with the new ones likened to Oasis, Grand Bazaar or Harvest Day from BC2 and BF3. We're also told that the game's four key classes (Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon) will all make a return, as will the Battlepack system of old. Finally, there are apparently no plans to introduce microtransactions, but we'll not hold our breath on that point just yet.

Grab a hefty pinch of salt for this one, because we're probably not going to find out more until the game is properly unveiled. That is if it even exists in the first place. Watch this space.
