When EA and Bioware revealed Mass Effect: Andromeda they said that there were no plans to make a new trilogy and that the game would be a standalone experience, something that seems to be confirmed by a recent rumour.

A source who has close relations with people at Bioware has told us that most of the staff at Bioware Montreal, the developers of Andromeda, have moved on to other Bioware and EA studios to provide support on their respective projects. This includes helping EA Motive with Star Wars Battlefront II's campaign and Bioware Austin's new IP. We're told that this is mostly due to EA being disappointed with Mass Effect: Andromeda's reception, meaning they've decided to put the Mass Effect franchise on a hiatus.

Those of you who fear this means that we won't see more updates to Andromeda can relax, as the same source states that the staff that remain at Bioware Montreal will continue to update and plan new content to the game for the foreseeable future.

What do you think of Andromeda, now it's been out for a while?

"There's enough of the series' DNA in there that fans will find this a worthwhile adventure."
