After being delayed due to the pandemic, Nacon and KT Racing has finally been able to host the eSports WRC 2020 tournament, and has now also crowned a champion for that season.

The event, which took place in Ypres this past weekend, included three races, with Sami-Joe Abi Nakhle ultimately taking the victory by achieving the quickest time over all three stages combined. The victory also saw Sami-Joe beat out defending champion Lohan "Nexl" Blanc, who finished the event in second place.

"It's a dream come true for me," said Sami-Joe. "I can't really believe what just happened. I'm speechless, I'm so happy. I couldn't believe I was playing against Nexl, who has so much experience, is so consistent and really fast. It was amazing to compete against him in the final and with such a small gap between us going into the last special stage! Congratulations to him too."

Sami-Joe even has the chance to repeat the feat in a few weeks, when the finals of the eSports WRC 2021 season are set to take place in Athens. This event will be played on the upcoming WRC 10, and is planned for September 8.

REVIEW. Written by Petter Hegevall

"It's a really good game that mixes WRC 7 with WRC 8 and peppers it with a little bit of Richard Burns Rally to create a really tasty main course."
