Earlier this summer the fighting game community celebrated the return of Samurai Shodown with a new game on PS4 and Xbox One, and while the PC and Switch versions were due later in the year, Ryokutya2089 reports (thanks, Gematsu) that Nintendo's console will get it in Japan on December 12.

This will run at 60 FPS, as revealed by the latest edition of Weekly Famitsu, and you can play multiplayer using a single Joy-Con. Early purchases will even include the Neo Geo Pocket Color game Samurai Shodown 2 as well.

Those waiting for the game on PC will have to continue to be patient though, as there's no word on when we can expect this, other than the previously-stated date of Q4 this year. While you wait though, why not check out our review.

Will you play on Switch?
