We reported last week that Valve was facing backlash over a game called Active Shooter, that sees you take part in a school shooting, and now Kotaku reports that the game has finally been removed from Valve's platform.

Mainstream news outlets even got involved with the criticism, unsurprising considering its content, and now Valve has pulled the game from Steam entirely, not to mention all other games produced by Revived Games and published by Acid.

"This developer and publisher is, in fact, a person calling himself Ata Berdiyev, who had previously been removed last fall when he was operating as '[bc]Interactive' and 'Elusive Team,'" a Valve rep said in a statement to Kotaku, who also described Berdiyev as a "troll" with "a history of customer abuse, publishing copyrighted material, and user review manipulation [...] we are not going to do business with people who act like this towards our customers or Valve."

"The broader conversation about Steam's content policies is one that we'll be addressing soon," the rep added, which is important because Active Shooter wasn't specifically removed due to its content, but due to the creator's history and behaviour.
