The Shanghai Dragons Overwatch League team didn't have the 2022 it was hoping for. The 2021 champions failed to be the top team in the East division, and while it was a strong contender, didn't quite live up to the calibre of play that it offered in 2021. So going into 2023, it was quite clear that there would be some changes, but what has now been announced is surprising to say the least.

Because the Dragons has revealed that its 2023 team will see a few familiar faces returning, but they won't be playing in the roles they are best known for. As for what we mean by this, check out the 2023 Dragons team below.

  • Tank: Kim "Fleta" Byung-sun

  • Damage: Lee "Viper" Jung-woong

  • Damage: Jeong "Heesu" Hee-su

  • Support: Kang "Gangnamjin" Nam-jin

  • Support: Bae "diem" Min-seong

Yep, Fleta on Tank and the now unretired Diem on Support, very unusual indeed. With only five members currently, there's every chance we see more roster announcements for the Dragons over the coming weeks.
