If you cast your minds back to the first season of the Overwatch League, Shanghai Dragons ended without a win all year, which makes their latest feat all the more impressive, since they've just been crowned victorious at the Stage 3 finals of the Overwatch League Season 2.
The team were seeded eighth in the playoffs, but impressed early on by beating giants New York Excelsior 3-1 in their opening match. Vancouver Titans were their next opponents, a team that has also had a lot of success this season, but again the Dragons won 4-1 to set up a final with San Francisco Shock, who had defeated Hangzhou Spark and LA Valiant themselves.
And what a final it was, as the Dragons claimed the first three maps on Oasis, Numbani, and Horizon Lunar Colony, before the Shock clawed it back to 3-3 with wins on Havana, Ilios, and Eichenwalde. It all came down to Dorado, and Dragons had their own comeback to seal the title and $200,000 USD.
