A lot has been written regarding Sony's refusal to allow cross-play between several PS4 games and other consoles (the company is not as strict regarding PC versions). One of the most affected games is Fortnite, and when that game launched on Nintendo Switch, the discussion exploded on the Internet, as players were unable to use their Fortnite account that was already associated with PS4.
Now it seems Kenichiro Yoshida accepted to once again talk about the situation, according to a piece on Independent. The site claims Yoshida replied to a question during the IFA technology show in Berlin, referring the reason for not including cross-play is due to their belief that PlayStation is the best platform.
"On cross-platform, our way of thinking is always that PlayStation is the best place to play. Fortnite, I believe, partnered with PlayStation 4 is the best experience for users, that's our belief. But actually, we already opened some games as cross-platform with PC and some others, so we decide based on what is the best user experience. That is our way of thinking for cross-platform."
Yoshida also referred the competition with Nintendo and Microsoft is a "healthy situation".
