E3 2018 took place back in June, and Sony's press conference was a bit different than what we've grown used to. Focusing on four first-party titles, Spider-Man, The Last of Us: Part II, Death Stranding, and Ghost of Tsushima, with a few major third-party announcements sprinkled in, it was designed to give us a more in-depth look at fewer titles.

Sony seems happy with this move, and feel people, in general, enjoyed their new approach. Just recently Sony held a meeting with their investors, and Sony's CFO Hiroki Totoki said that games revealed at E3 "are receiving strong feedback". This might also mean strong negative feedback, but since it was told to investors it would be safe to assume that Totoki refers mostly to positive feedback.

So it would seem that we might see Sony use the same format again in the future. Tell us in the comments, what did you think about Sony's press conference in E3 2018. Of course, this approach requires a decent slate of games that warrants this sort of special focus.
