Sony has shared its financial results for the first quarter of the current fiscal year (the one that ended on June 30, 2018).
During that time a total of 3.2 million PS4 units have been shipped world wide, creating a grand total off 82.2 million shipped PS4 by June 2018. Sony predicts that by end of March 2019 they will have shipped up to 96 million units, adding up around one million more units than previously predicted.
Revenue made by the gaming division (so called "Game & Network Segment") has increased around 36% compared year on year to 472.1 billion yen ($4.23 billion) due to growing PS4 software sales. Operating income has also increased to 83.5 billion yen ($750 million).
Finally, the company revealed that PS Plus subscriptions were down slightly, with the recorded total of 33.9 million around 300,000 less than the 34.2 million subscribers confirmed in March.
